Tomorrow never comes: Why Real Change Happens Today
Geez. There’s so much content out there now.
So many ways to improve yourself. Extreme to extreme!
Take one single topic—diet. You could spend an entire year reading and watching content on nutrition and still have heaps more to get through. Eat small and often. No, eat one big meal late in the day. Fast. Breakfast is the most important meal. No, wait—skip it. Don't eat until the afternoon. Drop carbs. No, pack in the carbs to fuel yourself. The conflicting advice is endless.
Then there’s the motivational content. I’ve consumed it all—completed it, so to speak. And what did it amount to? A system overload. Confusion.
Yes, it gave me reference points and knowledge. But implementing that knowledge? Not so easy. And when you consume too much, it becomes the hobby in itself—a sophisticated form of procrastination. (One of our mortal enemies!)
Here’s the thing: you don’t go from where you are now, whatever that may be, to the curated, idealized life of a vlogger and CEO overnight.
And the hard truth of it... Tomorrow never comes! You can plan to integrate 101 new habits, aiming to live like the "CEO of all CEOs." But if tomorrow is when it starts, you’re already in trouble.
One of my biggest breakthroughs in recent years has been fully grasping the importance of today. Nothing happens tomorrow. The only time we ever truly live in is now. If you don’t do X today, it’s highly unlikely that X will start tomorrow.
Time doesn’t change us. What we do with our time does! (I'm claiming this one).
Tomorrow, you’ll wake up with all the same ingrained behaviours and subconscious habits that have held you back until now. They’ll kick in, pulling you back to what’s familiar, what’s safe. Fear—whether obvious or subtle—will keep nudging you toward the easiest and safest option.
If you want to change anything—your mindset, your habits, your life—you have to do something now.
So, what baby steps are you taking for the first time today?
